On May 18, 2011, Alice Wong was sworn into the privy council and appointed into cabinet as the Minister of State (Seniors). The following is a picture taken at Rideau Hall, with Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Governor General David Johnston in the background.
VBNF knows Alice for a long time since 2005. She is a hard working individual who cares about people. She is well connected to many communities and you can see her meeting with people all the time to listen to their concerns. She helped raised federal funding for the new library at the Kwantlen Polytechnic University in Richmond. With her new job as the Minister of State (Seniors). She will be listening to what the seniors need and bring them back to Ottawa for support.
VBNF was very pleased to be the first one interviewing her to learn about her new job.
